I'd like to introduce you to what I've been working on recently...
...pottery bowls with basket tops.
I've had quite a bit of fun experimenting with these.
So far, I've tried crochet,
jewellery wire with wool,
knotted jute, (and the jute rope in the first picture).
I have one little one left that I'm saving for cattail fiber, once the season arrives.
And then a couple that are "just" pottery...
So now I'm curious.
Should I make some blank basket bowls so that other people can play and experiment too?
Is there any interest out there, I have to wonder?
Feel free to leave me some comments on this one, either way. I would greatly appreciate it.

ReplyDeletewow, those are so cool.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and interesting mix of materials! I like the knotted one best - awesome!
ReplyDeleteYes on blanks!!! I want one.
ReplyDeleteExcellent. I'll be making some in the next couple of weeks in between items I need to replenish for shows. They should be ready in about 6 weeks to 2 months. I'll keep you posted.
DeleteI love the knotted jute one! Are you making the bowls too? Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, I've been making the bowls. It's something I've been wanting to try for a while and am just now getting around to it.
DeleteThey look great! I love the different textures and I like the idea of a 'blank canvas' for other people to experiment.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great idea! I think you can actually make DIY kits - a blank basket bowl, the materials and the tutorial how to "personalize" it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super idea. I like the big rope ones best.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I like the braided ones towards the bottom.
ReplyDeleteI love the 'fiber' pots, especially the one with the wool and the wire.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog :)
These are seriously cool! I love the one with the jute rope. The ideas just keep coming - so talented!
