I have a passion for all things traditional and I believe in trying to reclaim lost skills. I strive to learn and embrace a life lived as those who came before us - our grandparents, ancestors, and family friends as well as those who left a pioneering legacy. People who lived simply, but with purpose. People who truly lived in their community and supported one another.
I am a maker. I knit, sew, bake, spin, cook from scratch, spend time in my garden and of course I make pottery. I want to make beautiful things that my family can use every day. Quality pieces that will replace the "throw aways" in our lives and be treasured for the beauty they add to simple moments in our every day life.
I am a maker. A maker of family memories and traditions in my own family, and I would be honoured to make an heirloom quality piece for you that will become a part of your family traditions.
So how did this come about? I have always had a love of pottery, especially older pieces...functional pieces without fanfare. When my children were "old enough", I started taking an evening pottery class at my local community college and was hooked from that point on.
I did my first local show to help out a friend who was running a craft show as a school fundraiser and needed to fill tables. I loved getting direct feedback from my customers...explaining the process and giving ideas of how to use certain pieces (most of my pieces are multifuncional) and even sharing recipes. I have been doing a handful of shows per year ever since.
